Claim Dibs On The TV Remote, Halsey Is The First Big Act Coming To The 2019 ARIA Awards

Before she heads over here to lead the party for Falls Festival over the new year, Halsey is ducking in quickly to perform at the 2019 ARIA Awards. Time to wrestle the remote off your parents/housemates/younger brother, because this is a big get for the annual Aussie music awards.

The ARIAs have pulled in some pretty big names in recent years like 5SOSHarry Styles, Amy Shark, Gang Of Youths, and Lorde while the wider music industry gets all tiddly on the wines in the audience, so it’s a big move for Halsey to come down under ahead of her summer festival sets to perform a one-off gig.

Thank God for this, because I’ve had Nightmare stuck in my head on a faint loop for about three weeks.

And if her heartbreaking performance at the Emmys this year is anything to go by, I think the ARIAs might be forever changed after she’s done with it.

Halsey is not just the first act announced for this year’s massive night, but also the first international performer, which implies that there are more folks skipping across the pond to perform, and you bet your sweet ass I’m crossing my fingers that Lil Nas X is on that list. C’mahhhhhn, make it happen. Bring the tiny cowboy over here.

The Big Spiky Awards are being handed out on November 27, so that’s plenty of time for you to either find your way to Sydney to line the red carpet, or bags the TV that night.

If you’re overseas (or forbidden from the Good Room), the ARIA Awards will also be live-streamed on YouTube, so as long as you’ve got a laptop/device and an internet connection, you’re sweet.
