Grizzly Bear Drop New Song, Hint At Harvest Fest Dates

Brooklyn’s Grizzly Bear have returned with a song starring the extraordinarily complex songwriting from guitarist Daniel Rossen. The track “Sleeping Ute”, is the first single from the band’s fourth record (out September 17/18 on Warp Records/Inertia) and fuses the jazz-fused folk of Nick Drake, the soulful layered rock of Jeff Buckley, and a densely textured modern pop arrangement. In short, it sounds like Grizzly Bear.

With the release of “Sleeping Ute” (via the band’s YouTube channel) a stack of world tour dates was also unveiled. The length list of stops does not include Australia, but if you take a look at the November schedule it’s looking like Grizzly Bear is a sure bet for the 2012 Harvest Festival lineup. The Harvest Fest dates are the 10th, 17th and 18th of November and there’s a noticeable gap in the band’s tour stops over those weeks:

GRIZZLY BEAR TOUR – NOVEMBER
02 Köln, Germany @ Essigfabrik
03 Paris, France @ Pitchfork Festival
04 Brussels, Belgium @ Ancienne Belgique
05 Amsterdam, Holland @ Paradiso
20 Wellington, New Zealand @ Opera House

21 Auckland, New Zealand @ Bruce Mason

Very promising.
