Grinderman’s Meredith Set To Coincide With Lunar Eclipse

The planets have aligned (along with at least two other celestial bodies) with news that Meredith’s 21st birthday party will coincide with a total lunar eclipse. Aunty’s in house meteorologists say the eclipse will take place toward the tail end of Grinderman’s Saturday night set but will intensify slowly throughout due to something called “the penumbral phase”. Science!

Organisers explain: “The moon will be eclipsed ‘in totality’ for 51 minutes and 8 seconds. This will take place from 14:31:49 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) which is about half past midnight on the Saturday night of Meredith. This is about the time Grinderman finish their set. As it takes a few hours for Earth’s shadow to completely block our view of the moon, the effect of the eclipse will be intensifying (the “penumbral” phase), throughout Grinderman’s set.”

Head to the Meredith website for more information. Meredith’s first round ballot closes at 10pm Friday August 12th.
