Gotye teams up with fellow Melburnian, pop darling Kimbra, and music video director Natasha Pincus (“We Won’t Run” Sarah Blasko) for the clip of single “Somebody That I Used To Know”.
The track is a she-vs-him duet (think the Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me”) and the video concept makes a play on the song’s lyrics, changing somebody that I used to know into a more literal some BODY that I used to know through the use of body paint – a reflection perhaps of how we might change ourselves during relationships before eventually exposing our true self. Or maybe it’s just because everyone likes the feeling of paint on their bare skin.
