Gotye, LMFAO Win Australia’s Highest Songwriting Honours

Last night the 2012 Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) Music Awards, “Australian songwriting’s premier music event”, were held in Sydney. To no one’s surprise the top honour of the night, peer-voted gong for Song of the Year, went to Gotye for “Somebody That I Used To Know” featuring Kimbra. Der.

Gotye was also awarded in the categories for Songwriter of the Year and Most Played Australian Work.

The International Work of the Year went to the band LMFAO for the “song” “Party Rock Anthem”.

I didn’t say anything.
