Gorillaz’ Sixth Studio Album ‘The Now Now’ Now Has A Release Date (Now)

Finally breaking up the endless parade of albums being released by three-dimensional bands, the world’s premier two-dimensional band, Gorillaz, are set to drop their sixth studio album in late June.

In their usual fashion, they’ve been dropping hints through all sorts of website trickery about an upcoming album, but have now given The Now Now a release date.

The website currently plays a short video with some very 70s cinema vibes that ends with ‘June 29th’, which doesn’t in itself explicitly foreshadow an album drop, but as Consequence of Sound points out, French actress (and wife of Jamie HewlettEmma de Caunes posted a graphic on her Instagram story quite clearly spelling it all out.

The band released their last studio album, Humanz, last year, after a 5-year gap following the release of The Fall.

Frontman Damon Albarn reportedly briefly lost an album with a master copy of the album in a cab a few weeks ago, which is a fantastic effort.
