Fuzzy, Future Crack BRW Top 50 Entertainers List 2011

Today is that very special time of year when HSC kids their results and BRW tells us which entertainers are super rich.

The usual names are there, with The Wiggles replacing AC/DC at No. 2 and the company behind Walking With Dinosaurs, Global Creatures, sitting at the top for another year. Eat that, Jurassic Park.

Perhaps unsurprisingly the strongest new names in the Rich List are the event promoters behind some of Australia’s fastest growing festival brands. Dance stalwarts Fuzzy, responsible for Parklife and Field Day, led the charge alongside Future Entertainment (Future Music and Summadayze) and Secret Sounds (every indie gig ever, Splendour In The Grass).

About a third of the list are TV and film actors, with Naomi Watts coasting into No. 3 with a cool $19.1 million. Those who were worried about the fate of Kyle Sandilands will be glad to know that he’s still in the list, having earned $3 million with Jackie O last year even when he was booted off air for a while.

So enjoy your festivals, lads. You’re helping make some quiet promoters a neat little nest egg.
