Future Islands Drop Deets For A December Tour & Hoo Boy It’s Gunna Rule

We know they’re already coming over here for Meredith MusicFairgrounds, and Fidelity festivals in December, and it was truly only a matter of time before Future Islands announced an actual tour of the east coast of Australia (sorry Adelaide) to go run alongside those festival appearances. Because God damn they were absolutely not just coming over for a couple of festival dates and then buggering off again.

Very good news folks, ‘cos it’s happening. Future Islands will be playing the following dates in December:

Saturday 2 December @ Fidelity Festival, Perth
Tuesday 5 December @ Metro Theatre, Sydney
Wednesday 6 December @ Triffid, Brisbane
Friday 8 December @ Fairgrounds Festival, Berry
Saturday 9 December @ Meredith Music Festival, Meredith
Monday 11 December @ Croxton Hotel, Melbourne

The band were just here in July for Splendour In The Grass – where they played one of the most phenomenal sets of the weekend. (I’m biased as hell, but Christ it was good.)

If that evening set in the crisp Byron air is anything to go by, this tour will be a special run of shows. Frontman Samuel T Herring is notorious for throwing his entire body and soul into every performance, flinging and dragging himself across the stage, pushing himself and his vocals to the absolute edge.

He’s an incredible performer, so if you have the chance to see them play, I can’t recommend it enough – if only to see Samuel and his 10/10 chops cutting shapes on the stage.

Pre-sale tickets are up for grabs from Handsome Tours over HERE at 9am on Thursday September 7th, and the rest of the tickets will be released at 9am on Friday Sept 8th.

Don’t sleep on it, mates. This one will go like bloody hotcakes.
