If you’re still saddened by the (completely understandable) Australian tour cancellations of St Albans trio Friendly Fires and DFA Disco-unit Holy Ghost! perhaps news of a forthcoming split single will brighten your day.
Dubbed “Friendly Fires vs Holy Ghost”, the single will be released on March 8 via download and 12-inch vinyl with the dancefloor friendly brethren covering each others’ jams. The idea was conceived, as most great ideas are, over a few beverages at the 2009 Calvi On The Rocks festival in Corsica and finds Friendly Fires tackling Holy Ghost’s arpeggiated anthem “Hold On” and Holy Ghost reworking the Friendly Fires album pivot “On Board”.
