Which Friday Mood Are You, Based On A Bunch Of Britney Spears Songs?

It’s Friday afternoon, which means you’ve survived the long working week once again. Congrats sis – you deserve a sip of canned Moscato.

Last “Friday Mood” we got down’N’Dirrty with Christina Aguilera. I feel like her discography perfectly enabled us all to decipher our wide-ranging moods. I literally haven’t stopped popping my bussy to “Your Body” since. Also, to everyone who gave me shit for not including “Come On Over”, sue me – I just didn’t care for it at that time and I still have zero regrets.

This week, I’ve enlisted the help of Britney Spears to help you with the important process of self-reflection, once more, and to emotionally guide you with her musical healing powers. There are 10 huge Friday moods below, ranging from drunk and fragile, to studious and gonna-fight-you-at-the-clubs, so let’s get straight to work b**ch.

“Work B**ch” – A studious mood

It’s your final week of uni, you have about 37 assignments due in the next week, and you have literally done zero work this semester because you’ve spent your time watching Drag Race, crying or thinking about your ex. Either way, your game face is on, you’ve sharpened your pencils and you’re ready to paraphrase the entirety of Wikipedia. You betta werk, bitch.

“Overprotected” – A tired mood

You’re feeling a tad unappreciated, RN – people need to stop underestimating you, or talking down to you like you aren’t good at your job. Well, you’ve had it. You’re ready to break free. You want to stare into the mirror for 45 minutes, before chucking on your kitten heals and clomping down King St like it’s nobody’s business. “Bye softbois,” you quietly whisper to yourself, so you don’t make a scene, “I deserve better.”

“Oops!… I Did It Again” / “Stronger” – An independent mood

You’re stronger than Thursday, and ready to release all inhibitions. You’re also ready to drown all thoughts of loneliness by consuming that bottle of your roommate’s Prosecco . You know the one – you’ve been eyeing it off in the fridge all week. You do you, sis. Smoke some darts and break some hearts. No one, and I repeat NO ONE, is going to yuck your yum.

“Womanizer” / “Circus” – A vengeful mood

The world is your stage, your admirers are the audience and the spotlight is your internal monologue reminding you that you are ~that bitch~. You’ve managed to quieten your inner saboteur for now. Tonight, you’re jumping on the podium and laughing at anyone who thinks they can come up with you. There’s only one throne, after all.

“Toxic” / “I’m a Slave 4 U” – A dangerously flighty mood

Ooft. It’s been a second since you’ve had some action and you’re more revved up than a fresh 10 pack of AAA Energizer batteries. You want to hit up a lowly-lit bar and swig a bourbon on the rocks (even though bourbon makes you gag), before running home and swiping on Tinder for 2 hours.

“Everytime” / “…Baby One More Time” – A fragile mood, in two parts

You’ve been a bull in a China shop, and now you’re feeling lonely, pretty devo about some shit, and super regretful. You want to watch Bridget Jones’ Baby on repeat, sew a sweater of your feelings, and drink a glass filled with your tears. If you are in this place, just know that I love you and care for you.

“Gimme More” – An excited-for-the-clubs mood

You’ve been frothing the idea of a night out all week. Your group chat is off the charts at the moment, with the words “keen”, “fuck yes” and “dick” frequenting the conversation. Who cares about the hangover, existential crisis and morning depression you’ll experience tomorrow, right? Life’s a party!

“Piece of Me” – A gonna-fight-you-at-the-clubs mood

You’ve had a shit day at work, your annoying co-workers have really gotten on your nerves tonight and you literally might start throwing hands. No one should cross paths with you tonight.

“Lucky”  – A drunk mood

It’s happened. You’re already drunk. You think it’s time to move to Bali, and start packing for your new life. You then cry, cry, cry in your lonely heart thinking, if there’s nothing missing in your life then why do these tears come at night? (Did this just hit a nerve? Try talking to my 7-year-old self literally yelping in front of the telly when with this video came on Rage. Fuck.)

“If U Seek Amy” – A high-key sexy mood

I mean, does this really need an explanation?

So which Friday mood are you? I’m “Everytime” / “…Baby One More Time” with a dash of “Piece of Me”. Sorry ’bout it.

God bless you all, Britney stans.
