Whether they’re referencing James Joyce or Homer (that’s Ancient Greece, not contemporary Springfield) cerebral Scottish four-piece Franz Ferdinand have announced “Ulysses” as the first single from their soon to be released LP Tonight: Franz Ferdinand.
The single is to be released digitally on the 2nd of December but like Radiohead before them the band have made the stems available for fans to remix. So if you’re a budding “producer” who’s never picked up an instrument in their life head over to Beat Portal and compress/pitch shift/delay Alex Kapranos’ vocals beyond recognition. One lucky submission will be chosen by the band and released digitally at the same time as the original – I’ll respect anyone who throws down some pan flutes of whatever they had as instruments in Ancient Greece, sticks and stones maybe?
