It’s a bloody good year to be either Flume or Troye Sivan, you guys.
The official list of nominations for the 2016 ARIA Awards has been released, and it’s a veritable two young gun show, with Flume absolutely cleaning up and upstart Troye Sivan not far behind.
Flume’s chart-topping second album ‘Skin‘ hauled in an eye-watering ELEVEN award nominations (which includes three art and tech awards that he’s already won, if ya can believe it), while Sivan’s debut album ‘Blue Neighbourhood‘ saw him rake in seven of his own in just his first year of award eligibility.
The pair featured heavily in the big-hitting nominations, including Album and Song Of The Year, as well as Best Male Artist and Best Video.
Elsewhere, Sia, The Avalanches, and Illy all picked up a tidy six nominations each, and psychedelic rockers King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard came in strong with 5 of their own, tying with RÜFÜS and Violent Soho.
Flume also swept the technical ARIA Awards, which were handed out as part of the nomination announcement this morning. From the three Fine Arts & Artisan awards he was nominated for, he scored all of ’em: Best Cover Art, Producer of the Year, and Engineer of the Year.
