Flume, Avalanches, Ya Bois Matt & Alex Score Big In 1st Batch Of ARIA Noms

The Aria Awards are celebrating the big 3 0 this year.
Yep, that’s thirty years of celebrating boonta Aussie music, and awarding the biggest and brightest talent in this sunburnt land.
Who could forget iconic moments the awards show has previously afforded, like John Farnham looking like he ’bout to shit himself after winning 6 awards in ‘89, Axle Whitehead whipping his cock out while presenting an award to Hilltop Hoods (‘Straya!) and of course, pranksters Matt Okine and Alex Dyson rocking up as Drake and the pink box from Hotline Bling last year.

November 23rd‘s set to be just as exciting this year, as the nominees for the Artisan Awards & Fine Arts Awards have just been announced – and they good.
(These aren’t the regular awards, but rather the ones that celebrate producers, cover art designers, sound engineers and the like – the unsung heroes, if you will.)
The crew behind ya boy Flume and The Avalanches lead the nominations – no surprises there.
Flight Facilities picked up a nomination for Best Classical Album for their stellar collab with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at Sidney Myer Music Bowl last year.
Triple J‘s Matt & Alex copped a nom for Best Comedy Release for their brekky-show highlight real, Play It Out (the one that features Darude‘s Sandstorm, naturally).
