Flo Rida Has Postponed His Australian Tour Thanks To A Festival’s Collapse

As with just about every “major” RnB and hip hop tour that promises to do big things in Australia, the planned Flo Rida tour – which was set to begin later this month – has hit snags, and has now been postponed until 2019.

The story goes that Flo Rida was set to be a headline act at the inaugural Sydney iteration of snowboarder Shaun White‘s Air + Style Festival at the Domain, which would’ve featured musical acts including Flo Rida and fellow headliner Snow Patrol, as well as Big Air snowboarding courtesy of a 16-storey ramp purpose-built for the occasion.

Unfortunately, the festival’s operating company Moore Sports International, went into liquidation a week or so ago, meaning the festival kinda just collapsed in on itself. Definitely not something we haven’t seen in Australia a hundred times before or anything.

Regardless, Flo Rida still had two sideshows independently booked around the festival – one in Brisbane, and one in Melbourne. However they have now been pushed back until the warmer months which, frankly, is way more appropriate for a Flo Rida show anyway.

The postponement is largely due to the festival’s collapse leaving a gap in the tour schedule that was impossible to fill, according to Flo Rida’s own tour promoter MJR Presents.

That’s the bad news.

The slightly less bad news is that full refunds are being offered to punters who can’t make the new dates.

And the good news is that anyone who bought tickets and is still keen to go will be able to have those tickets honoured at the new shows.

The run of new dates for the Flo Rida shows looks thusly:

Thursday January 17th – The Forum, Melbourne VIC
Friday January 18th – Eatons Hill, Brisbane QLD

Eagle-eyed punters in Sydney will note that there’s ample time across the weekend to add a future date. So best keep your fingers crossed for some good news about a future good feeling.
