FFS: The Weeknd & Sia Just Pulled A Stadium-Sized Aussie Tour Date Clash

One of the coolest things about living in a country that’s on the other side of the Earth from basically everything else is that musical artists need to expend a great deal of energy in getting here to perform for us, and unless they’re big artists it often doesn’t make much financial sense.

So when they do make the effort to come here, and they clash, it stings so much more. Such is the case in sunny Sydney, where Sia and The Weeknd – who I would wager have quite a large crossover in their Australian fanbase – are playing on the very same night: December 2.
The Weeknd’s playing at Qudos Bank Arena in Homebush, whereas Sia is playing at Allianz Stadium in Paddington. She couldn’t even play at Stadium Australia so particularly desperate fans could sprint between the two gigs like madmen. SMDH.
Fans aren’t particularly chuffed by this development:

Either way, be glad you’re not this person who has a third, somewhat important clash:

If you’re a Weeknd fan who already bought tickets to Sia… you can always go to the gig in Melbourne on the 8th of December. Commiserations.
Ah well. We get two of the world’s biggest pop acts and they’re slinging their tunes on the very same night.
