All The Festival Sideshows You Need To Get Across In July

Contributor: PEDESTRIAN.TV

Alright ya pack of fiends, you might’ve missed out on tix to your fave July festival but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on your fave musos too.

Some of the biggest acts are gracing us with their presence at venues across Oz, so don’t make the same mistake twice and get in while the tickets are hot (and, you know, available).

Check out some of the must-see acts.

Kendrick Lamar

Kung Fu Kenny threw Aussies into a panic when it was announced he’d be headlining Splendour in the Grass, and now fans are clambering over each other to get tickets to a slew of his sideshows. Rumour has it Ri-Ri will be joining him on tour to bang out their tune Loyalty, and by rumours I mean something I made up two seconds ago. Here’s to hoping.

Peep the list of dates below:

  • 10 Jul, Perth Arena, Perth
  • 13 & 14 Jul, Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
  • 15 Jul, Entertainment Centre, Adelaide
  • 24 & 25 Jul, Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney

Grab tickets here.

Miguel

After destroying it at the 2018 BET Awards, it’s no wonder that there’s some serious hype surrounding Miguel‘s jaunt down under.

Find out when and where to see the Los Angeles native’s sideshows below:

  • 16 Jul, Enmore Theatre, Sydney
  • 18 Jul, Forum Theatre, Melbourne

Grab tickets here.

CHVRCHES

Hearing The Mother We Share for the first time will forever be a high point of my life and I’d sell both of my kidneys to see CHVRCHES play in Melbourne every weekend for the next 40 years. My kidneys are in average working condition though so if anyone else wants to volunteer theirs, be my guest.

Dates to catch the Scottish trio below:

  • 22 Jul, Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
  • 23 Jul, Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne

Grab tickets here.

Franz Ferdinand + MGMT

Okay, Franz Ferdinand are great and all, but personally nothing can beat the nostalgia-inducing intro of MGMT‘s Kids or the way Electric Feel makes me have flashbacks to my first ‘adult’ party where I made a damn fool of myself. Ah, youth.

Dates to MGMT (and Franz Ferdinand, I guess) below:

  • 24 Jul, Festival Hall, Melbourne
  • 25 Jul, Hordern Pavilion, Sydney

Grab tickets here.

Albert Hammond Jr.

After releasing his fourth solo album, Francis Trouble, earlier this year, there’s a lot for Albert Hammond Jr. to be excited about. What he shouldn’t be excited about is having to come down to Melbourne bang in the middle of winter to freeze his ass off with the rest of us. I guess that’s showbiz for ya.

The Strokes‘ guitarist will be hitting these venues:

  • 24 Jul, Factory Theatre, Sydney
  • 25 Jul, Corner Hotel, Melbourne

Grab Sydney tickets here and Melb tickets here.

And if none of the above tickles ya fancy (doubtful), here are some more:

James Bay

  • 24 Jul, Hamer Hall, Melbourne
  • 25 Jul, State Theatre, Sydney

Tickets here.

Superorganism

  • 22 Jul, 170 Russell, Melbourne
  • 24 Jul, Metro Theatre, Sydney

Tickets here.

Get amongst it, patrons. YOLO and all that.
