Ferocious Punk Legends At The Drive-In Just Unleashed A Mystery Teaser

Real talk: Yours truly has lead a pretty charmed life when it comes to ~engaging with live music~, and there aren’t too many bands unchecked on the ole’ bucket list. But right at the crest of that pile sits the absolutely f’n VITAL Texas outfit At The Drive-In.

The crushing noise rock/post-hardcore outfit that formed in El Paso back in 1993 have been largely dormant since their much-publicised 2012 reunion that took in a number of global festivals, including a one-stop Australian visit for Splendour in the Grass.
Since then, not much has been heard from the lineup consisting of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Jim Ward, Paul Hinojos, and Tony Hajjar, save for the odd bit of news about vinyl reissues of their three studio albums.
But late last year a couple of festival posters began circling the internet featuring the name of a certain pre-Mars Volta act, indicating that at least that much was in the works.
And not to be outdone by that, the band took to their long-dormant Facebook page to drop… this.

WHAT IS IT WHAT DOES IT MEAN OH MY EVER-LOVING GOD.
If it’s an announcement for a new album, it would represent their first studio recording since 2000’s Relationship of Command. And if it’s indeed new recorded material, holy shit they managed to keep that quiet.
Their announcement – of whatever this is for – is set for Friday Australian time. Hold on to your butts, people.
