The blessed annual trip down to Berry on the NSW South Coast (aka God’s Country) is coming around once again and this year’s Fairgrounds Festival has really worked the gems out of the earth to produce a lineup that’ll impress you and your folks.

Leading the charge is none other than parka-wearing Oasis king, Liam Gallagher, alongside Dope Lemon, DMA’s, Meg Mac and the country’s favourite alt-country mum, Kasey Chambers. All hitting Berry Showgrounds on December 6 & 7 – love that.
Sorry but just the thought of Liam Gallagher being in Berry, in beautiful quaint Berry where so many mums go to do some antique shopping and visit all the precious little homewares places, is incredible to me. Liam Gallagher, a mere 45 minutes away from my birthplace. A blessed day.
Joining these heavy-hitters for the balmy weekend that feels more like a school fête than a proper, international-artist-pulling festival include Julia Jacklin, The Lemonheads, The Babe Rainbow, Hatchie, Nilüfer Yanya, and a whole bunch more.
Fairgrounds is once again throwing open the gates to the summer camp section of the event, with punters being able to pitch a tent at Rivercamp – so you can wake up bright and early on a December morning and go for a dip in the Shoalhaven River before heading into the festival.
Seriously this place is so pure. Fairgrounds has this atmosphere of magic that only comes with camping trips on the coast where the air is sticky and sweet-smelling, and you can spend the day listening to live music while lounging by the local pool.
As always, there’s plenty of other things to peruse while you’re at the festival, including the annual record fair, market stalls, fête-style games on the green, and a whole bunch of local wineries slinging their plonk.
Tickets for the whole blissful weekender just a quick skip south of Sydney are on sale from 9am Wednesday August 28, with a cheeky presale happening from 9am Tuesday August 27. There’s plenty of ticket options and payment plans this year, making it even more accessible to more folks.
Oh and a hot tip, stick around for Sunday as well, because the local Berry Markets set up shop at the festival site that morning. And there’s nothing like some fresh local produce and trinkets to help you ease off a two-day festival.
