Ed Sheeran Has Straight Up Deleted His Twitter Following His ‘GoT’ Debut

WARNING: Substantially mild ‘Game of Thrones’ spoilers ahead.
From his appearance and his artistic works, it might seem like Ed Sheeran is an unbreachable fortress of stoic masculinity, but you’d be surprised to learn that the gruff, imposing songsmith is just as sensitive as the rest of us.
Sheeran has already in the past suggested that he’s bloody sick of people being mean to him on the internet, having quit Twitter earlier in the month thanks to people just being dicks all the time. He told ‘The Sun‘ he just couldn’t deal with it anymore:
“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that.

“One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it. The headfuck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”
All this is very understandable, on account of Twitter primarily being a place where people go to either hurl insults at each other or steal jokes from each other. Apparently it wasn’t enough, though.
Following the reception of his ‘Game of Thrones‘ debut as a musically inclined Lannister soldier, Sheeran has taken the further step of just straight up deleting his account.
Without warning and without comment, the ginger giant has disappeared from the site, presumably to live a carefree existence where he’s not constantly belittled by people called like @ultimate_genius.
Don’t despair completely, though, he is still alive and kicking on the old IG.
