DZ Deathrays Covered ‘Addicted To Bass’ With No Bass For Like A Version

Now that the silly season’s over and everyone’s slowly dragging their sore, full of food and booze backsides back into the office, Triple J is again firing on all cylinders, which means bringing the pot out of the fridge to put Like A Version back on the hotplate for another year of bands doing other bands’ songs.

In this early January/hot summer instalment, we’ve got rock lords DZ Deathrays popping into the J’s studios to lay down a version of Josh Abrahams‘ (better known as Puretone) and Amiel Daemion‘s 1999 smash hit “Addicted To Bass.”
The kicker here? Deathrays did the song without a bassist, proving that a methadone substitute is not really needed to kick a bass addiction; going cold turkey will work just as well if you have the will power.
Make like Prague and Czech it!
