The artist, otherwise known as Childish Gambino, announced the news on social media earlier today. Guava Island will drop Saturday, April 13 at 12:01am PT (5:01pm AEST for us). Variety reports it’ll be free to stream on Amazon Prime Video without a subscription until 6:00pm Saturday PT (11:00am Sunday AEST). That’s an 18-hour window, you’ve got there.

The movie will also hit Twitch.tv/primevideo for free at 5:00pm PT on Saturday (10:00am Sunday AEST).

The film’s synopsis reads: “On Guava Island, a local musician is determined to throw a festival for everyone to enjoy.”

“I’m really humbled having the opportunity to present something this timely and timeless,” Glover said. “Between Rihanna and the people of Cuba, this is one of my favourite projects I’ve ever worked on.”

The movie is directed by Hiro Murai, of Atlanta and Glover’s ‘This Is America’ music video, and also stars Black Panthers’ Letitia Wright and Game of Thrones’ Nonso Anozie.
