The DJ Who Groped Taylor Swift Now Says The Incident Has “Ruined” His Life

The DJ who was found guilty of groping Taylor Swift during a 2013 radio station appearance has now turned around and claimed the pop-star has “ruined” his life thanks to the incident, almost a full twelve months after a court ruled that he definitely did it.

Since a court ruled he was guilty of sexual assault almost twelve months ago, David Mueller has continued to profess his innocence and has now gone on the record to claim that not only has his life been ruined by Swift, but that he is now also “afraid” to talk to women as a result of the case.

The court in Colorado ruled in August last year that Mueller, 51-years-old at the time, put his hand up Swift’s skirt and groped her bare buttocks during a VIP photo opportunity at a radio station in 2013.

The court had previously thrown out a $3million damages countersuit filed by Mueller, and awarded Swift the symbolic sum of $1 instead.

Swift was subject to repeated lines of sexist questioning from Mueller’s legal team throughout the extended hearing, and declared the win as a victory for herself and “anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault,” while acknowledging “the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this.” Swift subsequently vowed to provided financial assistance to legal organisations that seek to assist victims of sexual assault defend themselves.

Mueller, however, sees the whole shebang incredibly differently.

The now-56-year-old radio DJ was summarily fired from his job at a Colorado station following the assault. However, he remains on the air thanks to a new job at a station in Mississippi.

Despite the fact that he still works in the industry and is freely allowed to do so, and despite the fact he was not ordered to pay damages above the $1 symbolic sum, Mueller still vehemently believes Swift was in the wrong for pursuing him in this matter, asserting to Radar that the pop star has thoroughly ruined his life.

Mueller maintains his innocence to this day, and told radar that if he could say one thing to Swift now it would be “How can you live with yourself?

You ruined my life. I was not ready for the photograph. I admit it was awkward but I never grabbed her. It’s not even close to what happened.

Now I’m afraid to even talk to women. I feel like I’m in a prison. I’m not myself anymore. I don’t even go near women.

Mueller also fell back on the defence that he could not possibly have groped Taylor Swift’s ass – as was ruled by a court of law – because he was extremely, very muchly, assuredly Not Sexist™.

It make me upset. I was always the gentleman. I would always say, ‘Hey, watch your language, there’s a lady here,’ and then I get accused of this.

I think I speak for everyone reading this story when I say: Aw diddums.

Swift, for what it’s worth, said the incident was “horrifying” and that she tried to move away from Mueller’s grip on her ass, which he repeatedly pulled her back into.

So there you go.
