Diplo And MØ Drop First Collaboration Since ‘Lean On’, Delight Us Once More

As the days till summer steadily drop down, so too do the days till the most holy decider of what music is ‘in’ and what music is ‘barely in at number 99’ – a.k.a. Triple J’s Hottest 100.

This means that every potential banger must now be assessed for Hottest 100 suitability, and we’ve got a nice little contender right here: the just-released ‘Kamikaze‘ from Diplo’s Major Lazer and .

Get this in and around your earbuds (taste levels set to: frothy).

In a presser sent out about Kamikaze, MØ said:

“I love working with Diplo. It’s always such a fun and open-minded creative process. It’s about making memorable songs but, more than that, it’s about making pop music that wants to push boundaries. I’ve been loving all kinds of pop since I first fell in love with the Spice Girls, but pop needs to bring something new to the table, it needs balls. And that’s what you get working with Diplo.”

The two of ’em last teamed up for 100% certified banger ‘Lean On‘, which has been covered by just about everybody and is pretty much a shoo-in for the Hottest 100’s Top 10.

“Making ‘Lean On’ and being a part of that tornado these past eight months has been one of the greatest experiences in my life so far, and I’m super happy that ‘Kamikaze’ is made in a collaboration with the same group of my friends.”

#FriendshipGoals, tbh. Once you’ve inhaled Kamikaze to your heart’s content, crack open a cider and play what is the musical equivalent of a face warmed by sunshine – a.k.a. Lean On – over and over till summer officially starts. Not that we’re counting.
