Did Coldplay’s Sydney Video Rip Off Local Band Sticky Fingers?

Coldplay made a big fuss earlier this week when they filmed and then subsequently rush-released a video for their new single, ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’, on a street in Sydney’s Newtown. Everybody was celebrating and reveling in confetti and good vibes, except for fans of local band Sticky Fingers, who were sorta kinda miffed that Coldplay’s clip bore a lot of similarities to the Fingers’ own video for the song ‘Australia Street’.

Sticky Fingers themselves seem to be taking the whole thing in stride, declaring is to be “a laugh” and responding via the medium of droll retweets:
