Designer L’Wren Scott Found Dead

Designer L’Wren Scott has been found dead of an apparent suicide in her Manhattan apartment by her assistant in the early hours of the morning, according to Manhattan law enforcement officials and the New York Times
Lisa Lupinski, a L’Wren Scott spokesperson has issued the following statement:  “We confirm the tragic death of L’Wren Scott. At this devastating time for Ms. Scott’s family and friends, we request that their privacy be respected. There will be no further public statement for the time being.”
Scott, 49 – a former model discovered by photographer Bruce Webber and muse to designer Thierry Mugler; a stylist who worked closely with Herb Ritts; a noted fashion designer in her own right and red carpet stalwart renowned for her glamourous and timeless wares synonymous with figures like Nicole Kidman, Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker and Christina Hendricks – was also Mick Jagger’s girlfriend of thirteen years. The couple met on the set of a photo shoot in 2001 and have been together since.
A spokesperson for Jagger, who is currently in Australia on tour with the Rolling Stones – the costumes for which Scott designed – has added that he is “completely shocked and devastated” by the news breaking only a day after arriving in Perth.
