Annual spooky winter festival Dark Mofo has bulked out its 2019 lineup with a bunch of incredible art, the opening of Dark Path, and a whole stack of new shows at Hobart‘s brand new venue, Altar.

Not satisfied with the massive first announcement which included the likes of FKA Twigs, Jonsi, and Sharon Van Etten, the winter-solstice-celebrating, after-dark gathering is celebrating the opening of a new DarkLab venue – Altar – and a bevvy of shows to kick the doors open in style from June 6.
With the likes of Briggs, Kira Puru, Ecca Vandal, These New South Whales, Totally Unicorn, and Pagan playing headline shows across the Dark Mofo festival, there’s easily going to be some kind of weird, debaucherous party for everyone. For the most part, you just gotta turn up at the door, first in best dressed.
Over at Dark Path, you’ll be able to wander down a rabbit hole stretching from Regatta Grounds, through Queen’s Domain and on to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, with commissioned pieces from US artist Tony Oursler, site-specific art from Tassie’s own Julie Gough, and heaps more.
And if you hit up the Winter Feast this year, you’ll have plenty of food and booze to choose from including Melbourne’s Miznon, Dark Duck, Fat Pig Farm, Orlando Plenty, Meatsmith, Sulliver’s Cove, Talisker, and heaps more. Feasters will be treated to sets from CLEWS, Baba Bruja, Ani Lou, The Stitch, and more.
