Daft Punk Are Hanging Up The Helmets After 28 Years Of Giving Us Straight-Up Bangers

It appears we weren’t up all night to get lucky because electronic music duo Daft Punk have hung up the helmets after a huge nearly-30 years career.

The duo – consisting of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Hoemem-Christo – announced their retirement in a new video entitled ‘Epilogue’ (which is an excerpt from their 2006 film Electroma).

The news of the split has also officially been confirmed by their publicist, but there’s no word on exactly why they called it quits.

Daft Punk have given us banger after banger over the years, with Get Lucky, Around The World, One More Time and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger to name just a few.

Oh, and let’s not forget the iconic collabs with artists like The Weeknd. We are simply unworthy! Unworthy, I tell ya!

You can take a peek at the announcement video below, but I’ll warn you, it’s probably going to send you down a Daft Punk rabbit hole for the rest of the day.

And, just for good measure, everyone gets to have a little boogie to One More Time, as a little farewell treat.

Long live Daft Punk. RIP.
