Cut Copy Show Us How They Made ‘Zonoscope’

Cut Copy (interview here) have released a twenty-two-minute video entitled ‘Artificial Interpreter’, which details the making of their latest album, Zonoscope.

In case you have, like, a job or something, here’s a quick rundown on what we’ve learned about Melbourne’s most danceable quartet:

– The band really enjoy drinking tea. And sharing oranges.
Dan Whitford wears green socks for good luck.
– That whole story about wearing jackets a size too small to stay out of their comfort zone is totally true.
– Though they didn’t bring any prostitutes in to keep the crew happy, the band did manage to nab a couple of mannequins.
“Sometimes we get naked and just dance around.” Bromance, thy name is Cut Copy.
“I was listening to all those Brian Eno records and I thought ‘Eh, that would be kind of cool…’”
– Cut Copy are still big fans of the album as an art form as opposed to ‘a bunch of mp3s released to the world.’
– In the States, the band lose a game of HORSE to some American dude called Ray Ray (Producer Ben Allen), and have to drink their first Starbucks iced coffee. Which, when you’re from Melbourne, is only slightly above being tasered in the nads on the pain scale.
