And now in Completely Tenuous News Items! The newly reformed Stone Roses have released the first tour dates since reuniting, sparking speculation (amongst at least two people including me) that the band could make the 2012 Splendour In The Grass lineup.
Pitchfork revealed the Stone Roses tour dates (below), which includes a gig at Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.
It’s common for the big international acts to do the Fuji-Splendour back-to-back appearances on account of them being in the right (or south) hemisphere at the right time. In 2010 The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem (among others) did the two gigs, and last year the major headliners Pulp and Coldplay played both… We figure if the Stone Roses are making a tour appearance in Australia at all, it’ll be when they’re in the neighbourhood.
Only about eight months to wait until we find out for sure!
