Yep, Coachella is kicking off just outside of Palm Springs this weekend, and for all of us who can’t physically be there, there’s always the Coachella live stream on YouTube. Ah, that blessed live stream.

It’s the best of both worlds, really. You don’t have to spend money to go to America and be surrounded by thousands of people in the desert, you can not wear pants and nobody will care, and you can stay warm and safe in your house while Childish Gambino smashes out the Friday night headline spot. The dream? Absolutely.
Because of that lovely thing called ~time differences~ the Coachella live stream is kicking off on the festival’s YouTube channel from 9:15am AEST this Saturday morning with Yellow Days, Hurray For The Riff Raff, and my personal favourite, Los Tucanes de Tijuana. I’m not being sarcastic here, I’m genuinely so excited to see them.

At the time of writing this, there are 84 artists all locked in to have their sets live-streamed over the weekend, including Kacey Musgraves, King Princess, Jaden Smith, BLACKPINK, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Diplo, Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, Lizzo, and Ariana Grande.
You can also set up a bit of a schedule for yourself, so you cop a little notification when the next set’s about to start, and instead of having to literally run between stages you can just flick over the stream to another stage and get the best spot in the crowd.
When it hits 10am on Day Two, all of the streams will be playing Guava Island, the island-centric thriller written by Stephen Glover and stars his brother Donald Glover and Rihanna at 10am AEST time, if YouTube’s schedule is to be believed. That means you don’t have to cop yourself an Amazon Prime subscription to see the highly-anticipated flick.
So go and work into your butt groove on the couch, or invite all your mates around for an impromptu loungeroom mini-festival and pump the Coachella live stream in the background.
