Alright, I don’t know about you but I am in an extreme Mamma Mia! phase right now. My Spotify has just been a continual loop of the official soundtracks to Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and I cannot physically stop myself. So this morning, when our lord and saviour CHER – Cher teased her cover of the absolute bop that is ABBA’s ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme (A Man After Midnight)’, it took me a full day to recover.

So, here we are.
As you may or may not know, Cher announced she’d be releasing an album full of ABBA covers hopefully including the it-was-simply-amazing-there-are-no-words rendition of ‘Fernando’,
Of course, the songs won’t be sounding like the originals – they’ve completely been Cherised.
Chatting to Today‘s Kathie Lee Gifford Cher said that “After I did ‘Fernando,’ I thought it would really be fun to do an album of ABBA songs, so I did!”
And thank God she did.
Enjoy:

Yeah look, that’s a bloody BOP.
As tweeted late last month, the track list will look like this:
- WATERLOO
- GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! (A MAN AFTER MIDNIGHT)
- DANCING QUEEN
- CHIQUITITTA
- NAME OF THE GAME
- MAMMA MIA
- ONE OF US
- WINNER TAKES IT ALL
- SOS
- ???????????
Number ten has to be Fernando, right?
Cher accompanied this teaser with a tweet explaining that “each song is its own special entity. Waterloo is homage to Benny and Björn… Many of them are my versions of their dreams.”
You can check out the full tweet, below:

Also, resistance is futile:
Mamma Mia! the musical is currently showing at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne so if you’re keen on that, click HERE. They’ll be in town until September 30.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is in cinemas now.
Björn Ulvaeus making a silent cameo just warms my heart:
ICONIC.
