Yesterday, Sir David Bowie released a video for his song “The Next Day”. Set amidst Christian paraphernalia and a bloody altercation, perpetuating corrupt priest stereotypes, and Bowie himself playing godly religious icon, a leading Catholic advocacy group absolutely lost their shit.
The Catholic League (motto: for religious and civil rights), responded with scorn and disgust, posting a long-winded letter of backlash on their website.
