With the completion of the battle rounds last week (R.I.P. heavy-handed set design) Aussie bookies now have a clearer picture of who will win this thing – and it’s probably going to be a woman.
Karise Eden, the Central Coast teen with the stunning white Aretha voice is the $6 favourite to win according to tomwaterhouse.com. She’s followed by mini Matt Corby Lakyn Heperi who’s pegged at $6.50 to the dollar and would probably be favourite if we factored in his ‘cool dude’ back story a little more. Look guy, we know it’s your E True Hollywood back story and everything but a ‘semi-pro skateboarder who transformed into a singer/songwriter after a broken ankle kept him off his board for 8 months’ sounds like an aborted fringe character on The OC. A character named Lakyn who plays sweet acoustic guitar ballads, wears meme hoodies and visibly freaks out in front of people like Joel Madden. But you’d sound nothing alike. He’d be a terrible singer.
Brittany Cairns and the legally blind Rachael Leahcar are also among the favourites at $7 and $8 respectively.
