Bono Reckons Our Best Weapon In The Fight Against ISIS Is Borat

Not just the lead singer of one of the blandest bands to have ever graced the face of the Earth, it turns out U2‘s Bono is also a goddamn strategic genius.
Speaking at a US Senate subcommittee hearing today on extremism in the Middle East, Bono said that what would really stop is comedy:
“Don’t laugh, but I think comedy should be deployed. It’s like, you speak violence, you speak their language. But you laugh at them when they are goose-stepping down the street and it takes away their power.”
Specifically, he recommended Chris Rock, Amy Schumer and Sacha Baron Cohen as his powerhouse team of laugh soldiers – two of whom seem like pretty solid choices and one of whom seems like the dude whose whole thing is doing a new terrible accent every 2 years.
Take a look at the smug, Irish bastard and his smug, Irish humanitarian work:

Amy Schumer seemed pretty surprised, linking to the video on twitter with just the words “Holy shit”.
Bono’s logic was that making fun of ISIS would strip them of their power, which kinda makes sense but bullets and rockets still probably do a lot of damage even if they’ve been sent up in a comedy film.
He drew comparisons to Hitler ditching the surrealists and the dadaists out of Germany, which apparently worked or maybe just coincidentally aligned with his disastrous invasion of Russia.
