Bonnaroo Is Letting Fans Announce Its 2015 Lineup, One Artist At A Time

It’s a big time of year for huge international festival lineups, with announcements coming left, right, centre and everywhere in between at the moment. Last week we had the massive 2015 lineup for the iconic Coachella festival drop. Now its similarly huge cousin in Bonnaroo has stepped up to the plate for their turn.

But instead of doing something boring like simply telling people what the lineup is, festival organisers are taking a fairly unique route for their artist announcements.
Fans in the US have been ringing a 1-800 number, which has been dropping a single artist at a time. People are then encouraged to jump online and share that artist’s name on social media using the hashtag #Bonnaroo. At the time of writing, the hashtag has been shooting up the worldwide trending lists at an alarming rate as more and more people catch on.
Bonnaroo’s website has been compiling a feed of announcements, with people going to some pretty neat creative lengths to present their artist.
Check out the lineup as it grows, as well as people’s awesome announcements, by hitting up the feed at the Bonnaroo website.
UPDATE 1:00pm – The little social media experiment has concluded, and the full lineup has now dropped.
The 2015 edition is being headed up by gigantic names like Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons, Deadmau5, Kendrick Lamar, Florence & The Machine and features a freakin’ SWATHE of other awesome acts like Childish Gambino, My Morning Jacket, Flume, Ben Folds, Atmosphere, Earth, Wind & Fire, Mac DeMarco, Tycho, Between The Buried & Me, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and a whole hot mess more.
Check out the full lineup below.
Bonnaroo 2015 is taking place from the 11th till the 15th of June this year in Manchester, Tennessee.
Time to bust open that rainy day fund, friend-o’s.
