Blue Tongue Films‘ creative Spencer Susser (Hesher) is directing the next Lana Del Rey video for “Summertime Sadness”. The video will feature the songstress with her BFF model/actress Jaime King cruising in a convertible. Very ‘LA’. King’s husband Kyle Newman, also a filmmaker, will be collaborating with Susser on the shoot.
If the whole concept seems vaguely familiar, it may have something to do with the instagram images posted by the pair in celebration of King’s 33rd birthday earlier this year, with the girls partaking in a ‘Thelma and Louise’ inspired photoshoot, featuring Del Rey’s own Mercedes convertible, also shot by Newman. Practice run, anyone?
Take a look at behind-the-scenes pics at Just Jared. Based on the preview we’re expecting the video will feature plentiful shots of Del Rey draped across the passenger seat of the car with her gal pal at the wheel, smoke machines and a lot of hair.
UPDATE: As duly noted by one astute observer below, Spencer Susser is actually the only American in Blue Tongue Films. Americans: they’re everywhere.
