Billie Eilish Signs On For New ‘Bond’ Banger, Becomes Youngest Ever 007 Singer

What do you do with a tent-pole movie franchise whose central character has, for the last couple of films in a row, worried about their mortality and their looming exit from this world?

You get the world’s most famous teen muso to handle the theme song. Obviously.

Billie Eilish today revealed she will be handling vocal duties on No Time To Die, becoming the latest pop megastar to grace the grizzled spy movie series with their A+ capabilities.

She’ll also be the youngest person to ever do so.

Eilish presaged the news by inundating her Instagram Story with screenshots of Bond’s co-stars, including Salma Hayek, Eva Green, and Halle Berry.

To put her age into perspective, Eilish wasn’t even a year old when Berry’s Die Another Day come out.

In its own announcement, the folks behind 007 said Eilish’s brother and collaborator Finneas Eilish will also help with songwriting duties.

“Writing the theme song for a bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives,” he added.

“There is no more iconic pairing of music and cinema in my opinion. We feel so so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise.”

The appointment of Billie Eilish is the latest in a string of high-profile pop guns handling Bond theme tunes, with Sam Smith and Adele handling each of the previous two.

Not a bad gig if you can get it.
