Beyonce has opened a cosmetology school at a Brooklyn rehab centre for recovering drug addicts and alcoholics called Beyonce Cosmetology Center of the Phoenix House Career Center Academy.
Ain’t nobody as flawless as B so even if I wasn’t a massive crackhead that is the first place I would be going to smooth out my drug ravaged / sun damaged complexion. The course provides attendees with the career skills they need to lead productive, rewarding lives while recovering from substance abuse and diagnosed mental illness. Beyonce is such an angel.
“Halo” anyone?
Beyonce and her mother Tina have pledged to donate $100,000 each year to keep the program running, and L’Oreal – for whom B has been a long time ambassador – who will donate all the necessary beauty products. The idea was inspired by her experiences hanging at her mother’s beauty salon when she was growing up. She spoke about it at last Friday’s launch, saying: “I saw that a salon was a place for women to socialise, share stories, cry, laugh and get advice. Most importantly, I saw the joy it brought my mother, knowing she was a part of their transformation.”
That totally sounds like something out of Steel Magnolias. I hate that part where Shelby dies. It gets me every time.
