Bewigged Pop Star Sia Wants To Jingle Yr Bells With Just Announced Chrissy Album

Our very own enigmatic indie-pop star Sia is adding her name to the already extensive list of singers who have tried to cover ‘Little Drummer Boy‘ with the announcement that she’ll be making a Christmas album.

Just kidding, it’s Sia. She writes for Beyoncé, Rihanna and Kylie. It’s obviously going to be an album of Christmas originals/wall-to-wall grinding-under-the-mistletoe bangers. I personally am assuming each and every song will be ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You‘-level fire.

Sia’s also shed her label RCA, distributed in Oz via Inertia, who have been with her since 2014’s ‘1000 Forms of Fear‘. Her as-yet-untitled Christmas record will be released instead on Atlantic Records.

News has also dropped that Sia will be directing her first feature film – although there’s currently no details available about the project. Sia’s previously co-directed a number of her own music videos, including those for ‘Elastic Heart‘ featuring everyone’s favourite performance artist Shia LaBeouf, ‘Chandelier‘, and ‘Cheap Thrills‘, all three of which star tiny dancer Maddie Ziegler.

Back in 2015 there were rumblings that she was co-directing a doco about herself and then-husband Erik Anders Lang, but the couple have since split. There were also reports that she was making a film for Ziegler, titled Sister, based on a one-page story she wrote in 2007. Neither project has so far eventuated.

In May, the notoriously reclusive singer announced her first Australian tour in six years, with stops planned for Melbourne in November, and Sydney in December.
