Well fuck: of all the things I expected to happen today, one of them was definitely not finding out Steve Aoki made a cameo in Aussie muso Ben Lee‘s music video for ‘Catch My Disease’.

Remember that song about catching chlamydia, or some kind of STD? To be honest, I don’t actually know what the song is about at all. Oh wait, on further inspection I think “love” may be the disease the song is referring to. Well it certainly is a disease, that’s for sure.

Anyway, that song about ~disease~ came out a startling 17 years ago, and apparently features world-famous DJ Steve Aoki. According to who, you might ask? Well, Ben Lee of course.

Lee posted the fun fact on TikTok and honestly, you really waited 17 years to tell us Ben? I literally went from prep to year 12 (and some more) in the time it took you to reveal this fascinating piece of info.

“A little bit of trivia about the ‘Catch My Disease’ video,” Lee said in the TikTok.

“There’s an amazing cameo from someone you may not have seen before.

“There he is, that is Steve Aoki.”

Who would’ve thought ‘Catch My Disease’ would be so relevant to today’s climate. Actually, maybe Ben Lee predicted COVID all the way back in 2004? Maybe we should’ve been listening to those lyrics a little bit more closely?

“Open your eyes”

“Catch my disease”

Hello? COVID is airborne. It can literally be caught from the EYES.

Hold on someone’s at my door. It looks like Bill Gates is holding a cloth and a bottle of chloroform. Uh oh………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
