Proving that the side projects are on hold, The Strokes have released a nine minute video detailing the making of their fourth studio album in New York City’s Avatar Studios (unfortunately the video captures only two dimensions and doesn’t contain a single Ecological disaster).
As you’d expect, it’s all self aware in-jokes about “taking it to the next level” punctuated with snippets of the recording process and studio-conundrums like what to order for lunch. At nine minutes it may seem excruciatingly banal but the David Attenborough-esque voice over, joke-songs about broken equipment and visual proof that The Strokes love table tennis are reason enough to sit through the whole damn thing.
