Bedroom Philosopher Turns Hipster Parody Into Transport Jingle

Back in March we praised the biting satirical prowess of The Bedroom Philosopher’s “Northcote (So Hungover)”, a well aimed jab at vacuous hipster types who might possess asymmetrical haircuts, delusions of grandeur and pants that require cutting implements to remove. And hey, it was actually funny! Sample line: “You know, like, the band’s really gelling…like, our hair. We’re going through an 80’s thing at the moment“. C’mon that’s funny! Smirk-worthy at least, in a way that suggests you’re knowingly outside the group of people he’s disparaging but close enough to completely understand the jokes. That’s everyone right?

Anyway, Justin Heazlewood, the Melbourne actor, comedian and musician responsible for “Northcote (So Hungover)” has released a video for the aforementioned as well as a Metlink commissioned spin off, “Hurtsbridge (So Sober)”, which is way less funny but way more informative for people who want to know more about mobile applications that might help you navigate though Melbroune public transport. Who’s to say which is more important? We certainly know which is more hilarious. Clue: the one that’s not about time efficient methods with which to monitor inefficient public transport.
