Gossip front-woman Beth Ditto yesterday shared a joyous photograph taken at her all-white [Diddy-themed?] destination wedding to girlfriend Kristen Ogata having recently wed her affianced former-assistant in Maui. Posted to the band’s Facebook page, Ditto captioned the image:
At long last, now that we have returned home and recovered from all the amazingness and had some time to bask in the afterglow, we are exited [sic] to share with you a pic or two from Beth and Kristin’s wedding! So much love and appreciation to all of our family and friends who celebrated with us! And a huge thank you to Jean Paul Gaultier for the dream-come-true dress!
Ditto is a long-time friend and muse to Gaultier, and closed the couturier’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection with an unaccompanied performance of River Deep, Mountain High. The band’s breakout single, Standing in the Way of Control, was also written in response to President Bush’s Federal Marriage Amendment, a proposed constitutional act which – had it not been for DOMA – still probably wouldn’t have prevented the inimitable Ditto from experiencing her evident, radiant happiness.
