Bardot Performed ‘Poison’ On A 20th Anniversary Zoom Call & I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying

bardot reunion

If you were looking for a reason to smile today, 3/5ths of the iconic Australian girl group Bardot came together for a 20th anniversary reunion on IGTV and holy shit, it was incredible.

To celebrate 20 years since their hit track Poison topped the charts on April 17 , 2000, the girls got together (virtually) to perform the song that started it all.

Katie Underwood, Belinda Chapple and Tiffani Wood were all present for the video reunion, which saw them perform a stripped back version of the song. But don’t get it mistaken, even after 20 years, they still absolutely nailed the vocals.

“When a Zoom catch up ends up in a song,” the post was captioned.

Former members Sally Polihronas and Sophie Monk weren’t present in the video call, which is pretty unsurprising considering neither of them have been tagged in any of the photos present on the official band account.

Although we’d all love to see a whole-group reunion, Katie Underwood’s 20th anniversary tribute on Instagram last week asserts that Soph and Sally definitely aren’t keen on getting the gang back together any time soon.

“Sadly two of our other group members did not share the same nostalgia that we do – and that’s ok. Maybe some day that will change,” Katie Underwood wrote on Instagram last week in celebration of the band’s 20th birthday.

Notably, Sophie and Sally are cropped out of all bar one of the photos in Katie’s carousel.

Although Sophie and Sally are no longer involved in the friendship group, you can’t help but feel warm and fuzzy inside knowing that Katie, Belinda and Tiffani are still “sisters-in-song.”

“In these two women – Belinda & Tiffani – I found my tribe – funny, intelligent, talented, caring and grounded people who I am delighted to still call friends after all these years. These last few weeks, and even months, have been a joyful reunion for me. Thank you,” Katie wrote.

You can peep the whole video on Facebook below, but a warning: this will absolutely send you down an early 00s music rabbit hole.
