And now for the latest from our annual series of Completely Tenuous Splendour In The Grass Lineup Speculations. Following on from some pretty sound reasoning behind our belief that Jack White will make an appearance at this year’s Splendour In The Grass comes news from the internet’s greatest source of beef beside www.austbeef.com.au, Azealia Banks twitter feed.
First there was this, and now, as with White, the most compelling indicator that she’ll be joining us in July are her 2012 tour dates. Like White, she’s booked pretty much all festival spots as opposed to a run of solo shows in the lead up to the weekend of the 27th. There’s also a pretty huge gap in her calendar from July 8th to August 9th so surely, with a confirmed announcement that she’s touring Australia in July and an obvious embargo on revealing any actual appearances, there’s gotta be room for some Splendour in there somewhere. Pie on my face if there isn’t. I’d happily settle for a side show in the 2012 (that’s Strawberry Hills, also known as: literally around the corner from Pedestrian HQ) for real, for real, for real.
Splendour in the Grass will announce their 2012 lineup in April (why that’s tomorrow!) and take place at Belongil Field, Byron Bay from July 27 to 29.
