Aussies Are The Worst Pirates In The World, Downloaded Heaps Of Hilltop Hoods This Year

More Australians per capita visit the Torrent Shop than any other nation in the world. So says a new report conducted by BitTorrent analytics gurus MusicMetric, who found that while The US, The UK, Italy, Canada and Brazil lead the world in illegal music downloads, Australia, when considering its relatively miniscule population, was the worst nation in the world when it came to pirating music.

Americans made over 96 million illegal downloads between January and July of this year downloading Drake’s “The Motto” more than any other piece of music over that same time period. The UK logged over 43 million illegal downloads favouring Ed Sheeran while Aussies made over 19 million illegal downloads with substantial bandwidth reserved for Hilltop Hoods’ “I Love It”, which, according to the report, is the most illegally downloaded piece of music in Australia.

The Hoods beat out Gotye’s twelve track “Somebody That I Used To Know” delivery system, Making Mirrors, which was among the top ten most downloaded albums in the world and number one in both Poland and Belgium.

Now to the most pirated song in Australia….
