It’s been a banner year for young Australian music in the US if appearances on TV chat shows are anything to go by. We’ve already seen barnstorming debut performances from the likes of Courtney Barnett – who cracked The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon – and Vance Joy – who tore through the studios of Late Night with Seth Meyers. Now completing that trifecta is Brisbane outfit Sheppard, who have made the leap by making their debut US TV appearance on the ever-so-popular Ellen.

Those with keen eyes, ears and memories might remember the band from their performance during the red carpet arrivals of this year’s ARIA Awards ceremony. Now, with the talent manager behind Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande getting around them, they’re taking their light, poppy tunes to the global stage.
Check out their performance of “Geronimo” above, why don’t you.
