What better way to celebrate Halloween than an all-day rock show featuring some of the finest acts to ever play what John Lithgow refers to as the devil’s music in the movie Footloose? That’s a rhetorical question. The brilliant curators at All Tomorrow’s Parties bring you Release The Bats!, featuring a lineup of noise, garage and alt-rock that includes none other than the Kurt Cobain-endorsed alternative rock outfit The Breeders, reunited noise legends The Jesus Lizard and great Australian inclusions like Total Control, The UV Race and ’90s swamp rockers Hoss.
There IS no better way to indulge in the year’s most costume-friendly pagan freakfest than a plugged-in sonic assault, so lock it in: Saturday October 26th 2013, 12pm Noon – 1am, at The Westgate Entertainment Centre and Grand Star Receptions (two venues in one complex in Altona) just 13km away from the centre of Melbourne.
