Well fuck, that took no time at all – just days after tweeting the words “thank u, next” as a kiss-off to her ex Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande has released a single of the same name, and it’s a banger.

Ariana Grande has officially been though it the last couple of years, following a devastating terror attack at her Manchester concert, then the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and her high-profile split from Pete Davidson.
She name checks both men in the lyrics, saying:
“Now I listen and laugh / Even almost got married / And for Pete, I’m so thankful / Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel.”
Though the singer has been on a prolific Twitter spree of late, taking a crack at Davidson for milking their relationship drama on Saturday Night Live, she has stressed that this song is all about moving forward and there is no underlying negativity.
She said earlier today that the song contains “no drags” and “no shade”, just “love, gratitude, acceptance, honesty, forgiveness … and growth.” Frankly, she deserves it after the time she’s had recently, and we’re impressed that she could turn out such a banger in such a short space of time.
Anyway, if you need me I’ll be cranking this tune at maximum volume for the rest of the afternoon.Image: Getty Images / Kevin Mazur
