Are These The Best Australian Albums Of 2014? Triple J Think So

Triple j this morning announced the first round of nominations for their tenth annual J Awards recognising the best in Australian music across four categories.

If you take arbitrary accolades like award nominations at face value, then the best Australian albums of 2014 are almost certainly those belonging to triple j Unearthed alum Remi for Raw x Infinity, Total Control’s Typical System, #1 Dads About Face, The Preatures Blue Planet Eyes, Ball Park Music Puddinghead and Chet Faker‘s Built on Glass.
Previous album of the year winners include Wolfmother (2005), Hilltop Hoods (2006), The Panics (2007), The Presets (2008), Sarah Blasko (2009), Tame Impala (2010), Gotye (2011) Tame Impala (2012) and Flume (2013).
More to come as the other nominees are announced throughout Aus Music Month.
